Licensing Relations Officer (Lagos)
Join the Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN) as a Licensing Relations Officer and play a pivotal role in managing licensing partnerships and ensuring the lawful use of musical works and sound recordings across diverse platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Licensing Negotiation: Engage with broadcasters, digital platforms, venues, and businesses to negotiate licensing agreements that align with organizational policies.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and finalize licensing agreements with a focus on clarity and compliance.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with licensees, acting as a trusted advisor to address inquiries and resolve conflicts.
- Revenue Growth: Identify opportunities to maximize licensing revenue and ensure fair royalties for rights holders.
- Compliance Oversight: Monitor adherence to licensing agreements, track usage data, and enforce copyright protections.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed reports on licensing activities, revenue performance, and market trends.
- Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as Legal, Membership Relations, and Royalty Distribution to ensure coordinated licensing efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Music Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in licensing, sales, marketing, business development, or rights management is an advantage.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Competent using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Willingness to travel and work across various locations as needed.
- Passion for music and the creative industries is a plus.
Location
This role is based in Lagos, Nigeria, with occasional travel required.
